Dr. Rameshwari Thakur

Graduate MBBS (1975) and post graduate in Medical Microbiology (1993) from Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. Also, did DCH from Tripoli, Libya in 1986. Worked in different specialties as resident (Paediatrics, Pathology, Dermatology, Surgery, Accident & Emergency, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology & Obstetrics) at IGMC, Shimla for about ten years. Worked also in Libya and Botswana. I have got passion for research. Published more than twenty papers in reputed national and international journals. I was working as Professor in the department of Microbiology, Muzaffarnagar Medical College, (U.P.). Resigned five months back. Worked as faculty in various medical colleges of India and Libya. Worked as Senior Research Microbiologist with the University of Pennsylvania at National Health laboratory, Botswana from 2005 to 2011. Was actively involved in research related with Cryptococcal meningitis, Dermatophytes and antibiotic resistance. Field of interest: Infection control, research, and teaching. Attended many national and international conferences and presented scientific papers in Botswana, US and South Africa. Widely travelled all over the world. Currently working on epidemic related aspects of dermatophytosis.
