Dr. Sandra Aparecida Marinho
Professor Sandra Aparecida Marinho graduated from the Federal University of Alfenas (Unifal-MG) College of Dentistry in 1993. Subsequently she completed her Specialization and Continuing Education in Oral Medicine from the Heliopois Hospital of São Paulo in 1997 and Specialization in Imaging and Dental Radiology in 2005 from the Brazilian Dental Association (ABO) of Paraiba. She obteined her Master of Dentistry (Periodontics) from University of São Paulo (USP) College of Dentistry in Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil and her Doctorate of Dentistry (Oral Medicine) from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in 2001 and 2006, respectively. She also completed a post-doctoral at the Federal University of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM) in 2011. She joined the College of Dentistry at the State University of Paraíba (UEPB) as a professor in 2011 and has been involved with teaching in the areas of Oral Medicine, Oral Radiology and LASER since. In addition to teaching, she was a member of the Supervisory Board of the “Sociedade Mineira de Estomatologia”, SOME (a regional Oral Medicine Association). She is currently a member of “Sociedade Brasileira de Estomatologia e Patologia”, SOBEP (the national Oral Medicine and Pathology Association) and of “Sociedade Brasileira de Pesquisa em Odontologia”, SBPqO (the Brazilian arm of the International Association for Dental Research, IADR). Besides her extensive teaching experience, she has also clinical experience and has been involved in the research areas of injuries and infections, dental radiology, microbiology, epidemiological studies and scientific methodology.
